Yeah I did that right before I checked to see how much memory is left, so that I had a good figure. Thanks for the quick response though.

The slowness really happens only, or almost only with texting, is there dedicated texting memory? or if you continue to reply to the same text does that slow the berry down?

Of what I know when my BB is slow, I would check all the apps running in the background
Alt + escape key. Maybe that's slowing dowm your berry.

I was having the same problem with my messages. What I tried was just deleting all my messages at the end of the day and it actually worked!
