im wanting to update to 4.5.163 from the link on top of this forum. I'm having trouble finding and deleting the vendor file. i went to Common Files > Research In Motion > and couldn't find apploader. all i have is "application_loader.dll" and i can't even open it. It tells me to use the net to find a program to open with. Does anyone know what's going on? im running a curve 8310 with 4.5.110.

youo are IN the app loader folder if you see that .dll

scroll to the very bottom of that folder.

mmm something is wrong then this is what my computer shows i go to Common Files > Research In Motion > (then here it says "blackberry)i click blackberry then i see a bunch of stuff that i have no idea what it is. there's file folders, a lot of dll files, xml document, and a few other stuff. I dont see a vendor file anywhere.

It sounds like you are in the wrong place. I just looked and I think
you are in c:\program files\research in motion.

Where you need to be is: c:\program files\common files\research in
motion\apploader

i deleted software i will download again and try again right now.
