I have both. And I have to tell you my 8120 takes more breaks then my curve. Main reason, the keyboard. I think its easier to love the pearl if you never tried the curve.

I had the same choice when I started with Blackberry last month, and have to admit that I was leaning towards the Pearl myself. However, my supplier who I trust and who was also running the 8320, and he reckoned I'd be happier with the Curve, mainly because of the QWERTY keyboard. It didn't take me long to realise that, for me, he was right and I genuinely feel that if I'd opted for the Pearl it would have been a big howler. Of course having now upgraded the OS to 4.5.5.52 (I'm on Orange UK so that's an official release) I also have video recording, html e-mail and other things that have made the Curve even more useful than it was when I first had it.
I will preface this by saying I have owned and used them both.....
Wow, THIS is purely what is best for YOU in form and function.....meaning that the value of the differences in devices are measured solely by your personal needs and tastes.......that being said....I went Curve and am very happy.........
The keyboard on the Curve (for me) is much easier and much faster........also my old @$$ prefers the larger screen.......size wise it is a non issue for me..........my curve will allow me to carry it every way I need to......both great devices (my 16 year old Son loves his Pearl).........I liked my Pearl very much......however I find the Curve exponentially more user friendly and impressive........
