Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).
It's pretty hard to excede the memory size limit, but easy to be oversized.

Most graphics editing software will allow you to change the image size.

Go to profile options and then it has to be 100 x 100 I believe

I always crop my photos to exactly 80x80 which is what the avatar size is. This way there is no chance that it will have any problems loading. What is your exact problem? Is it with loading the image or something else?

I had the same problem today but I changed the size too 100x100. When I went to load it there was an error, but when I went back to my profile, the pic showed up.. I guess I'll see now if it came up.

    guess not!

I tried it again and did it 80x80... error message: Upload of file failed

I use my Canon digital camera software to crop my photos. Then is use this to resize them to whatever I want:

FastStone Image Viewer, Screen Capture, Photo Resizer ...

Get PIXresizer - Free Image Resizer
Image resizing, do it with PIXresizer

It will allow you to resize any pic you want.

They have to be 80x80. I believe a pic in your profile can be 100x100, but not in your avatar. Mine actually end up being 80x64 or something like that using photo shop6. Thanks for the links guys, I'll play around with them.
