I've been hearing that GPS will be unlocked for verizon users by some fellow blackberryers... (is that a word?) is this true or just rumor?

I heard this from a couple friends but have no sources or backups... Is this true or something to wish for?

Unlikely. Plenty of commentary in the forums, though. Just browse around. Then head over to the crackberry store to buy an external GPS puck!

Highly unlikely. VZW/RIM have some sort of hardware lock on the GPS that limits it to VZW's Nav service. It is disappointing that RIM allows this, but thats how it is.

Its possible but I doubt it. I tried the Verizon navigator app but its a old version for the Curve and not worth the cost IMO. I went the gps puck route and it works for me.
