I got water in my blackberry recently, but fortunately I was able to get it repaired for free.

The problem is that when I initially got water in it, everything was able to work eventually, except when I wanted to click on things, I would have to press down REALLY hard on the trackball.

I took it in to get fixed, and trackball responds better, but in some cases it takes 4-5 clicks before it selects anything. I can scroll in any direction just fine, but when it comes to pressing down on the trackball, it's a bit hit or miss. Sometimes it responds right away, but most of the time it takes a couple of clicks before it responds properly. I use the enter button for now.

My question is that I guess I should take it back as the repair didn't solve the problem completely, but does anyone know any fixes to this?

I wonder if the water just fried the sensor area altogether

and one random additional question is that when I got my BB back, when I go to my browser it takes me straight to the "browser" and "Rogers wap" browser page with a + and a - next to each with bookmarks underneath. How can I just set it to where when I click on the browser I can go to "google.com" For some reason when I try to edit the homepage under the browser options it won't let me.

    Thanks for your help guys!

Take the trackball out (carefully), then using something like
a Q-Tip press down on the contact for the trackball, if it
responds, then something is wrong with the trackball itself.
If it does not the the contact is bad and may not be able
    to be repaired (cheaply)

EDIT: I can't take credit for this tip. I saw it posted by CB member

Sorry to hear that but water can be a killer. And a lot of times
(not saying so in your case) people try turning the phone
on way too soon. That only makes matters worse.

also, does anyone know to set your browser so it automatically goes to google.com?

When I click the browser on mine, it takes me to my bookmarks for some reason.

open browser > press menu > select options > scroll
all the way to the bottom > in Home Page Address enter
the address for google > press menu and then save options.

Close and reopen browser and you should be all set.

The problem is that it won't let me edit the homepage at all.

Plus when I select my browser, it takes me straight to the bookmarks section instead of the homepage.

When I do "go to" and access google, it won't let me make it my home page.

I would take it back wherever you got it repaired! You paid for it and they didnt repair it, thats just messed up..

Thats why I like t-mobile, they just replace it outright with a refurb unit.

Yeah, I might look into that for sure. It isn't much of a repair as it gets more and more frustrating.

Still confused as to why my browser automatically takes me to my bookmark folders.
