Anyone have any idea why the error message below pops up in gmail? It always shows in the middle of composing an email.

uncaughtexception:net.rim.device.api.system.contro lledaccessexception

Also gmail shows "checking for updates" when executed.

Hmmm are you using the gmail application? If so, you could just add the account to your device using the AT&T BIS web page or by clicking the "personal email set up" icon.

I downloaded gmail mobile and sign in using that icon. Still having this problem every time I type an email on my 8310.

Has anyone resolved this issue? I know that you can just add your email address to your message box, but I would like to have this program so other people can check as well if they want. I have been getting this error for a long time now and I have not been able to reconnect to gmail since it started happening.

I had to have ATT&T replace the device...no problem after that. They couldn't even figure it out!
