    Just curious if it mattered whether I had POP enabled as well as IMAP in Gmail...

    Right now I get one-way syncing (stuff read and deleted on BB are marked as such on Gmail). I've heard it goes the other way, but can take hours...

    I had both POP and IMAP enabled in Gmail, but read somewhere on the forums that it's better if only IMAP is enabled. Is this true?

    If you are receiving your Gmail thru BIS you will only receive. If you want full control you might want to install the Gmail app. Then when you do something on one it will reflect on the other.

    it doesn't matter. but, POP3 is much faster at retrieving emails.
