Can you guys browse internet using free wi-fi w/o data plan?
If yes, what browser do you use?

Planning to buy 8120, which should be operating similarly on wi-fi.

    Yes.

The Wifi Browser uses your existing internet connection. There is no carrier data used and no charges.

the BB browser works well with WiFi.. keep in consideration that most apps WILL NOT work without a data plan, even when connected to WiFi. Opera Mini is the browser of choice for many people, however, getting it to work is not always the easiest task to do. Usually you must change the APN setting under Options.. Advanced Options.. TCP.

OK.. called T-mobile. Again, agaijn, again, 15 mins on the phone.
rep told me I CAN NOT use free wi-fi networks w/o data plan and that I need a "feature" that T-mobile has, as she put it. She sad the same is true for Curve...why they are lying..

T-mobile rep Kiara (ID #40210) sounded nice

Because their client response scripts are worded by the carrier.

Their world connects to the network, Wifi only fits into their world view as UMA (Unlicenced Mobile Access).

Let me assure you, using the Browser without a data plan works. What does not work is anything that depends on the data plan or UMA. That pretty well covers anything of interest.
