I have an 8320 and today I looked at my phone and saw a large battery icon with a slash through it in the middle of the screen. I have taken the battery out and re-inserted it and continue to get the same icon (The top light is red, then goes dark and the battery with a slash though it appears on the screen). The Curve will not start up or allow me to use the phone...

I tried inserting the battery into my old 8700 and it start up fine with no errors. The battery charges fine as well.

The manual that came with the phone has no info on this error and the RIM site doesn't mention it either. I did a search of this forum and have come up short as I get tons of irrelevant matches... I apologize if this has been answered many times before but I'm getting desperate.

Can anybody help a noob out?

You need to try a different battery in the device that has the issue.
