My email icon says I have 2 messages but I don't have any new messages. Text or email. I can't see to get the icon to go away. Just want it to go away off my screen!!

This is a well known glitch. Do a battery pull.

Battery pull, or check the actual Messages icon if you have a split messages. SMS is seperated from your Email.

I had this issue several times. I changed my theme and then switched back to the theme that I was using and it worked fine. I had the same problem at another time and changing themes/battery pull did not resolve the problem, so I updated my OS through desktop manager and it took care of it. I would definately suggest battery pull and theme changes first!
