Is there a way to get an email alert/notification on the 8350i??

i would love to know this as well-any audible notification? Is it editable where you can choose the noise it makes?

Use the profile and set it to your mail to tone, and pick the "Tone". Also if you add other apps "Facebook" or "Gmail" you can set the notifications for thos too.

At the risk of sounding completely stupid... where is "profile"?

From you main screen (where the 5 icons are is how I find it), just scroll up

It is the little speaker icon on the left, just below the battery life. Click on it once, then scroll down to find the Advanced section.

Or you can find it on the screen which has all the icons listed (no, I don't know the exact name) and just scroll to Profiles.

Easiest way if the small speaker icon in the upper left corner of your screen. Click on it and scroll down to "Advanced". Choose the profile you want to edit (menu button) you will see all the categories that you can change your sounds/notifications for.
