is there a way for me to edit the songs on my mp3 so that they start from a certain point in the song. i would love to be able to edit music so that it can start at the chorus of the phone instead of the beginning.

i use a program called MP3 Workshop, its a free download and you can edit mp3 tracks to make ringtone files of just the section of the song you want to use as a ringtone or message tone. you can google it MP3 Workshop.

try Zedge: Free ringtones, free wallpaper, free themes, free downloads to Nokia and other mobile phones. there is a ringtone maker there, you just download your song and use the slider bars to catch the part of the song you need (up to 29 seconds)

Surprised that no body has yet suggested Audacity. It's 100% free.
