I have a 8310 curve and a 'dead' 9780 Bold (water damage,it will boot but gets the battery with the X showing on display) Since the 9780 display has better resolution, can i switch it with the 8310 display?

i thought the Bold is fried? it was left in water for a couple minutes, even though i took it apart and dried it out, i can't get it to completely boot..(just the battery with the red X showing)

if ur getting that then it isn't all fried. get another battery and try letting it boot, or just hook it up to ur pc via cable and let it boot off that power. it should start. if not then it can be wiped and reloaded just that u need another battery for it to make sense.
