Okay, so I just downloaded the empower pro edition and it gave me that wierd firewall message. I'm on BIS and I have a new Alltel 8330. I received an email that had a picture in it, and it wouldn't show up. I went to my firewall and disabled it and now the picture shows up.
My question is, what are the downsides to having my firewall disabled? And also, is there another solution to my problem?
I tried to read some other posts about this, but came up a little short.
There will be no harm to disabling the firewall. Mine always has been.
To your EmPower issue: options > advanced options > applications>
scroll to EmPower > press menu > edit permissions > set all to allow> save and exit.
yeah, I really didn't think disabling the firewall would cripple me, but then again, I have only had my berry for like a month.
Well, I took the firewall down first and then earlier I did an edit on the permissions. I knew the firewall worked, but there was no way for me to tell that the edit permissions was the problem. Good to know.
