So, I have an SD card in my BB. Being the super terrific Mom that I am, I let my daughter (8yrs) put it in her new Hello Kitty Digital camera. When I put it back in my phone the next day her pics were there and mine we ALL GONE!!!
WTF?!?!?! Are they gone forever?? How do I stop this from happening again?! I'm seriously sick to my stomach over this. Over 250 pics are gone.

Hmmm...do you have a computer to put the SD Card into to verify this? It sounds like the Hello Kitty camera might have formatted the SD Card for some reason...??

If it really is formatted use recuva (google it - its the first link)

I use it all the time. It lets you get your deleted or lost files back of you sd card.
