My mate has just bought a Curve and has asked me the following question that i have no answer for. Question is "I have all my tel numbers stored like this:+44 (7887) 655634. My old BB used to recognise incoming cli and show the name but this one doesn't seem to."

Anyone got any ideas as to why?

CLI = Calling Line Identifier. It's the calling party's phone name/number.

What he is trying to do is to have a non-standard formatted phone number +44 (7887) 655634 in his address book display the name/number of this person when they call.

The network will deliver the phone number in question either as +447887655634 or as 07887655634 and he is expecting his phone to match the two strings up.

CLI - Call Line identification. It doesn't recognise the new foramt so therefore doesn't identify the caller. Did on the olf 8700. Thanks
