I have been looking for a service/application and I can't seem to find just the right thing. Can you all help?
Here's what I want: my voicemails to be transcribed and sent to my phone via message or email-doesnt matter which. I prefer to not change my phone number. I have a Curve and I use ATT. I would (of course!) prefer that it be free. Does such an application exist?
Youmail would be able to do exactly what you want, the basic service is free. But message transcribing is not included with basic service and would cost you.

I have to second Youmail...you redirect your voicemail to their service and it allows you to do many nifty things like multiple personalized greetings, viewing/listening to messages on a PC, and transcribing messages. I toyed with it for a week or two but don't get enough voicemail to make it worthwhile. Sounds exactly what you're looking for though.
