Hey, I'm having a problem upgrading...my Desktop Manager has been stuck in the same position for over an hour. It's in the process of retrieving the Facebook module. Is this normal? What should I do?
Well, I did Ctrl-Alt-Del, cancelled out of it, restarted it, and then when it asked me which apps I wanted to update, I unchecked the box next to Facebook.
All went well, except now Facebook and MySpace are missing. They show under Options-> Advanced, but they don't show on the Home page so I can't access them.
Yeah, I had to download them OTA (I'm so proud, I learned a new term ;-) ), because even though the DM listed them as being installed, and they even showed up under Options-> Advanced, but they didn't show up on the home page after I upgraded the OS.
Sometimes apps will show up after you send service books -- which you should do when you upgrade your OS, this will turn on your HTML email. Then go into Docs to Go, press menu and register your app, then menu again and search for upgrades, select to download free upgrade to get Excel. I also put good browser settings below for you,
Send Service Books: Click your internet email icon (the envelope with a gear in front of it)> click service books> click send service books.
Browser Settings: Browser settings for improved view. While in your browser, press menu key> options> browser configuration> check all the boxes> make sure browser is set to internet browser> show images set to On WML and HTML Pages> emulation mode set to BlackBerry> click back and save.
