Deleting artists' names after deleting songs?

I put a lot of music on my 16gb card. I d-loaded some new stuff to listen to & didn't care for it so I deleted the songs. Now when you go to my artists list, the artist is still there but when you click on it, it says "no songs". How can I delete the artists' names that don't have any songs in them?

Have you tried doing a battery pull?

Try connecting the phone to a computer and let it enter Mass Storage Mode, then disconnect and WAIT for the phone to re-scan all the files.

If that doesn't work, try copying all the files off the card onto a computer, reformat the card, and copy everything back on.

I've tried a battery pull & connecting it to my pc to load more mp3s. They still won't disappear.

I'd imagine copying the files to a pc, reformat the card & put everything back on would fix the problem but I'm too lazy to do that. I thought there might be a simpler way to delete them that I couldn't find.

lo life, did you ever figure out how to delete the artists without reformatting the memory card? I just discovered that my 8330 is having the same issue. Tried battery pull as well as deleting the songs and copying them back but no luck.

That happened to me also a while back. So I just used my pc to re dload the songs onto the phone

I am having the same issue. I have reformatted and done all of those suggestions, but there are still phantom artists showing up with no songs.

I had the same problem and doing some of the stuff found online and some I did I was able to fix it on my phone.
1.- cut and paste from bb to pc any song, artist etc. you want to fix.
2.- fix it on pc.
3.- do the battery pull (to delete ghost information).
4.- cut and paste from pc to bb.
This is how it worked for me.
