Default Date & Time Question

Hey all,

Yesterday, I noticed that my BB's time was off (didn't change for Daylight savings) - it was also set to the wrong date. I went into "Date & Time" and pressed "Update Time" and it seemed to solve the problem, but what I want to know is am I going to have to do this every time we set the clock ahead or back? I saw there was an option for either "BlackBerry" or "Network" time - by default my berry was set to BlackBerry. What's the difference and what should it be on to ensure it will change from now on automatically?

Thanks!

fopr most phones yes. BB's do not auto sync very often. There is an option to auto update on the 5.0 OS, but since you have a curve, there is still some time for this to come out.

Set it to network time, it will auto update for daylight savings. The autoupdate feature on 5.0 is for when u change timezones. Berrys do NOT update automatically for that; yet. If you leave it on blackberry then it will be whatever time you tell it to be.

Thanks guys! I set it to network time - I guess this is what most people have it set to? It's interesting how BlackBerry was set originally - is that the default time or should it be network?

One thing to remember is that if you sync your device to the desktop, DM has a setting to use the PC's time, and if checked, it will adjust the device's time with each sync connection. That has been an occasional source of the question "Why does my BlackBerry keep changing time?"

Thanks - only time I connect my BB to my computer is when I back it up. Is Network the default setting for time source on a Curve 8330 on Verizon or is it Blackberry?

It would have also corrected itself after the first call "in". Outbound call will not fix this.
