I just wanted to SHOUT praises for my Curve! During, as well as 2 weeks afterward Ike hit, my 8310 kept us connected through texts and email. Phone service was spotty but AT&T had over 200 towers down. This phone was worth its weight in platinum!
It didn't loose a signal ONCE during the whole storm and after! the only thing that sucked was having to charge my phone in the car not through the wall charger.
Same here for Gustav, I spent 12 days without power. Had generator and charged my Curve and was able to communicate with the outside world. Kudos to Blackberry and Verizon.
Ditto for Gustav! Being able to access the internet was a great help after the storm. BB messenger was one of the few ways my company could stay in touch.
