Unhappy CURVE 8530 WIFI DOES NOT WORK? heeelp =(

Hi, so I recently got a blackberry curve 8530. I had a bit of issues when I first got it but I assumed it was just me being ignorant to its usage.

In any case, I managed to connect the wifi to my house router... it worked fine until I decided to call telus and ask them for help with my social network because it wasn't working. They made me do a whole bunch of things on my phone, and made me redownload all these applications. The person I spoke with seemed annoyed that I had used wifi to download the applications before... she made me turn it off and told me that she would allow data to my phone so I could redownload the apps.

I registered my blackberry, and everything; the social network was working, but my wifi no longer worked... it doesn't even say its connected. There's just a white dash no green checkmark... But the profile is there and selected...
I'm not sure if its something that I'm doing wrong or if its the phone or something telus did on their end...? maybe my router? I tried setting a new connection numerous times with no luck. I called telus back they said they had no way of doing anything to my phone or account to block wifi access....

Anyways, I would really appreciate some help!!
Thankksssss

I guess I might be too late to reply but thought I'd throw a suggestion out there just in case you're still having problems with your phone.

I was struggling with the same wifi issue on my Blackberry 8520 up until a few minutes ago. I noticed today that my wifi wasn't working even though it said it was connected, and I decided to see what the internet suggested.

None of the suggestions seemed to work, but I played around with it myself and suddenly I got a little green check mark!

What I did was:

- Open Manage Connections
- Select Wi-Fi Options
- Highlight the wifi network you're trying to connect to
- Press the blackberry symbol button
- Select Wi-Fi Tools
- Select Wi-Fi Diagnostics

Scroll down to where it says Blackberry Infrastructure
Under that it should say
- Connecting:
- Authenticating Router:
- Authenticating Server:

And next to them there will be either some red X's, yellow or grey dashes, or green check marks.

Basically you want all three to have green check marks.

I think I made mine turn green by selecting the Connecting one and choosing 'View Item'

I could be wrong, it could just be a fluke but I thought I'd put the suggestion out there in case it might work for anyone else!
