Curve 8330 usb port gone. Battery charge help!!!
I have been charging my battery by borrowing roomates phone just to charge. curve batt is a C-S2 i also have a C-M2 and a C-X2 battery lying around. Why will the C-S2 battery not charge if i put it in my spare Pearl 8130 or my old curve 8830? Shouldnt the battery at least charge while in those phones? I get the symbol on the screen of the batt with a line crossing it. Any input greatly appreciated

The battery isn't going to charge in an incompatible device.
If the USB port is broken on your device, you need to use an external battery charger. - 06-15-2011, 05:28 AM #3
The batteries are designed to work in specific phones. Notice there are 4 terminals on the battery? 2 are for power management, 2 are linked into the charging management circuitry.
Wrong battery gives incorrect data and doesn't allow charging to occur if installed into wrong device.
A standalone charger is available to charge batteries outside the phone. You'd be better off getting one and protecting your ability to charge in the future. Order one and a spare battery, and you can swap them as necessary.

You could use an 8330 charge pod. Best way, IMHO, to charge any BB. You get less wear and tear on the fragile USB connection.

Not an option to use my USB port as it isnt even in my phone anymore. Empty space where it used to be
