cracking from another carrier... help?

hey,
i got a bb a while ago its from wind (italian carrier) it was my friends so he took his chip and i put my other sim in from another carrier. now i tried to crack it but when i type in mepd that'll work but after mep2 it wont ask me for the code. is it cuz i already have another sim in? if yes is there a way to still crack it?
