I know there is a huge post on here about coloring the trackball. I have taken it out and cleaned it, and tried the piece of paper thing, but i have 2 leds that are on opposite sides and i cant get the trackball to change color much.. it is very faint.. any suggestions?? and anybody that has a vzww curve that has done the coloring, let me know how you did it.. I really want it colored, but its proving to be a pain..

Colored permanant sharpie marker in the color you like.

If you ever want to take the color off the LED light a cotton swab dipped in alcohol works wonders in getting it ALL off.

just makes me mad that my led isnt that bright.. and the 2 leds are off to the sides.. so its hard to color them all..

Get the fine point sharpie. They're a lot easier to use than the fat ones.

thank you.. i just colored my friends 8830 and it works and looks great.. but im worried about coloring on the leds. does it mess anything up??

Does not mess anything up but voids warranty, unless removed with a swab and alcohol .

I did on my old 8830. to blue worked out well..... and when it was sent back for the pearl a while ago i took the q tip to it and took it back to normal.

I colored all the leds under the keypad and trackball to purple on my pearl. Then I got the 8330 and decided I liked it the way it is (other than the housing, I want purple). I took a swab and alcohol and removed the color from the leds on the pearl and it still works fine.

I took someone else's advice and tried a colored plastic bag placed over the lights anthen putting the trackball back over it. Works perfectly with the red part of a target bag. Others have done tissue paper or even toilet paper, I think!

I am so afraid to break the silver ring that surrounds the trackball. Are there any tricks I should know about before I go prying it off? And is it as durable once you replace it? It was made to come off for cleaning right?

cnn.cn there are the different colored stock housings. If none of them suit your fancy there's always Krylon!

ETA ohhh, there's also a place that will do custom color coatings on your case if you send it in, there are also some pretty sweet lookin adhesive skins out there as well.

I took the housing apart. Which will most definately void your warranty.
