Unfortunately the only way to do that would be to actually remove the trackball assembly, voiding the warranty, to put colored tape in front of the LEDs. There is no software that can do this.
Oh ok. Well i don't wanna mess anything up. My Phone cost too much to take a chance. & with at&t on PDA's there isn't a warranty. So I will be ok. Thanks though.
read the post above that says i have a purple trackball, theres a link for instructions to take out ur trackball and color it by placing colored tape over the LED light, I will be doing this tonite to my 8310!
i have done it also. did red to my trackball and orange to my daughters. it is easy to do the only tool i used was my fingernail to pop up the chrome bezel.
