Ok, so I'm fixin' to get a BB 8330 from VZW but wanted to know if the charging goes through a MiniUSB like the 8830WE or through the contact points on the back? OR BOTH?

You can use both. the main one is through the mini USB (wall charger and USB). the contacts on the back are for the docking station

Dagnabit! So I'm going to guess that I'll have to buy that docking station for the wife then! Dagnabit! Just when I thought that it worked out perfect to get a FREE phone, there I go having to spend like $75 on it getting her an OtterBox and a Docking Station! Sheesh!
