can't update higher than 4.5

i have os 4.5 on my 8330m and i found that 5.o is compatible with my phone, but everytime i try to download it from the bb website, it takes me to the desktop manager and says there is no available update. How can I update then?

The 8330m never received an OS5 update.
The 8330 and 8330m are slightly different models.

When I go to my "about" screen, it says it's 8330, not 8330m.
Yet, I can't upgrade to 5.0?

If you're on Verizon, and you own an 8330.
You can upgrade to OS5.

How? When I click the "check for updates" option, it doesn't say anything. So I downloaded it to my computer and hooked up my phone to my computer and tried to download it that way, but the highest one that it will let me install to my phone is v4.5. (and my phone isn't working right now, so I can't look up the numbers that come after that). So it won't let me upgrade to v5.0
Any more suggestions?

If you go in and install it using loader.exe instead of desktop manager it will work. Desktop Manager will not recognize a 5.0 for our phones. Make sure you delete the vendor.xml file!
