so when i first got my curve, i did everything in stoner's guide to optimize my memory and everything was dandy. then i upgraded my os to 4.5.0.69 and some of the stuff i deleted to optimize memory was re-installed on my phone (themes, ptt, vad, password keeper). i followed stoner's guide again to uninstall all the unnecessaries BUT when i plugged in my phone and opened up DM (v. 4.6), unlike the first time i followed stoner's guide...there was no prompt to update my phone. i've triple and quadruple checked to make sure vendor.xml wasn't present, none of the ptt, vad, pk files were there, but still, no prompt for an upgrade and all that trash is still on my phone. any suggestions on how to fix this?

Well I did it easy...u have to install the software update on pc then go and remove the file from the folder. Then in DM run the app load till the end and its gone. Search for it in google or here...I forgot where I found the instructions

Have you by any chance recently uninstall a version of DM.
Check to make sure your OS is still installed on your PC.

this program can remove ptt, vad, sample pics and music. run it then delete it as you won't have any further need for it

plt, MaxMem is a kind of false hope. Since it only removes the
items from the phone they will still be in the Java folder, which
means the next time the OP runs DM, DM will reinstall
    everything that was removed.

Really? I did not know that. I dont have ptt but I removed all the other stuff via maxmem and have not had that happen?

Not sure, I never used it. I still do it the hard way.
There is always the chance that the user does not notice
    until it starts the reinstall.

There is a large discussion thread somewhere about the issue.
ScandaLex, discovered the issue, and that was the impetus
    for Pete6 to create CrackMem

cool thanks for the update, I try not to recommend it after people freak out over the no about screen after removing vad, at least they can put it back with pete. This is the first I've heard of CM not getting pttout though.

I agree. Pete did a fantastic job on CrackMem and it sure does
make it easy. And I too am confused as too why CM isn't working
for the OP. Is there a PTT Service book?

Mine returned whenever I added an app. So, the next time I used CrackMem to remove the files, I deleted them.
