    Hi:

I used Excel to add to a CSV file that I exported from my 8320 using DM.

Now when I try to load the new CSV File I get the following errors:

Total Inputs From First System: 0

    Input From Second System:

    READ "<Unspecified>"
Above line repeats for the 29 entries I have in the CSV file

Total Inputs From Second System: 29
    SKIP "<Key Fields Empty>"
    ADD "<Unspecified>"
Above lines repeats for the 29 entries I have in the CSV File

I have google for a solution, but have been unable to find one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I would do an ASCII EXPORT of your Contacts from your BB. Open that new .csv file and compare the field headers with what you're trying to Import. I've found if you move, delete or modify any of those field headers you will get errors when you try to import.

    Thanks for the reply.

I tried doing the Export to ascii and the resultant file is empty.

I have 17 addresses currently on my 8320, so I was expecting them to be in the file. I was able to export yesterday, but that file got deleted.

The log says there are zero records on the device and zero records in the ascii importer.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks

You have Contacts in your BB and yet none exported? Double check the setup in the Advanced section and make sure you're moving things in the right direction.

The do you mean Advance Option on the BB or in the DM?

    Thanks again.

sorry... In DM, Synchronize, Configuration, Configure Sync..., select Address Book and then Setup, ASCII Importer/Exporter, here is where you choose which direction to sync. With ASCII you can only go one way at a time. I'm using DM 4.3 but I think it's a similar path in the newer versions. I've used the newer ones but can never get a good backup so back to old 4.3.
