I noticed (before my disaster with 4.5) that when callers call me, the caller ID is not working. I have done battery pulls, restores etc, can anyone help?

no mine do not have a one. prior to friday when a contact called their named showed with the number, now just the number shows. when the call is logged it is logged with the name in the address book.

Can you do a restore from the last back you did? with the address book..

It started friday BEFORE I upgraded then downgraded. I have done restores from before i upgraded and that still does not fix it.

I noticed after work---at work I am in a deadzone and do not get calls. I had not made any changes to my phone before this happened.

Must be something, if you tried battery pull already, try service books I guess. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > menu > register.

Maybe the database is corrupt.. have you installed your OS then reinstalled it.. you said you had a terrible time with 4.5 the other day

Yes, I installed 4.5 then went back to 4.3 but this started before that.

Worst case, just backup the device and reinstall the OS...

Well, it doesnt sound like an OS issue then if t was happening on both OS's.. perhaps something wrong with its inside bits LOL

Well, I figured it out - well someone else from here did by accident. I asked a question about content protection and was sent to this thread:

This not only solved my question of what is content protection, it also solved my problem of contacts name not coming up when they call me and a little lock I saw at top if screen which I thought was new and only showed when I had it locked!!!!!!
