I was bored and found a can of Dodge Daytona Blue car paint in the garage. Just sold the daytona so I figured I'd use the rest up on the phone
Its a metallic paint and it sparkes in the light. Got rid of all the scratches now if only I could get the clear plastic replaced. turned out better than I thought it would
Too bad my camera doesn't take good pictures. It looks alot better in person

Awesome!! Post up some more pictures and detail the process you took, so others can know... that looks nice!

As for the "clear plastic" you want replaced... what part are you speaking of? You can get replacement parts from BBEnriched, use the exclusive CrackBerry promo code "B3rryPart$" for a discount!

    Here is one inside
I just took it apart, carefully taped the screen on both sides, put on 3 coats and the last one I made sure was a little thicker so it would be glossy.
Like I said, it turned out way better than I thought it would

So I'm wondering how easy home paint scratches off
I wold think maybe a gloss coat or semi gloss or even a clear matte on top would work better then a thicker topcoat for fending off scratches??????

For the record, he did not use home paint... he used car paint

So, I think it should be fairly durable!

Many people follow this process when painting :

    1) Purchase backup housing
    2) Sand to make surface rough
    3) Paint primer coat
    4) Paint color coat
    5) Paint clear coat

That looks pretty good. It looks alot sharper in the light. Did you buy the paint or did it come with the car? I like it. I would never be willing to take the housing off. I would be to afraid.

yep painted over it on purpose. I hate the flashing light.
I just scuffed up the surface first with a scrub pad. And yes it was Duplicolor Car spray paint I had left over from my Daytona Turbo.
