Default Blackberry smart e-mail viewer

I have a question about the BB smart e-mail viewers connection setting...
In the connection set up, whats the differance between TCP/IP and WAP. They both work for connecting but dont know witch one to use...

Thanks.

Some carriers charge more extra for tcpip connections and some carriers don't allow wap connections I believe. Go with wap if it works.

It works when I set the carrier to Cingular (USA). But when I try AT&T it does not.
