Try adding contacts by PIN instead, less chances of getting the 'pending' notice when trying to add someone...

Agreed SD I have noticed the PIN works better, but pins are not obtainable when sending .

When I try adding a contact, it just says it is sending an e-mail. I don't have the PIN option. I checked in options and can't see how to do it.
    Any suggestions please?

The way I've found is a bit esoteric, so I'm hoping someone has a better way. In BB Messenger, > Menu > Add a Contact > then in Address Book, highlight (do not activate) "Use Once" > Menu > Request by PIN.

Or if you already have the invitee's PIN in an address book entry, highlight the contact -> Menu > Request by PIN.

You can't use BlackBerry Messenger without a BlackBerry Data plan. Sorry.
