Does anyone else have a issue where BlackBerry Media Player identifies some music as "(unkown)" for the genre even though they do have a genre.

All my music is in WMA and I use MP3tag to edit all the song info before importing into my music library thats why I am sure. Is this a device bug?

Could be. Before making that suggestion I found a few songs
on my device that were listed as unknown genre. I deleted them. went
into Winamp and edited the tags and copied them to my BB, and
they showed in the correct genre.

Maybe device (doubtful), file type, or software. Hard to tell, but it worked on my end the way it should.

It's not a device bug. It all depends on how the music was originally ripped from CD. Songs from Itunes will usually have the genre tags, but if you legally and lawfully download songs from other sources, you have a 50/50 shot at all the tags being populated. If you don't have winamp, you can right click on the file in windows, select properties and fill in your own genre.
