Hi, I bought a unlocked BB Curve 8320 used from a guy who says it's from the States. (I live in Canada). I believe he said it was AT&T. I tried working the Wi-Fi a few times from different places from hotels, McDonalds, other people's houses, my house and it rarely connects. Sometimes it connects 99% of the time it doesn't. I'm with Rogers but I have no data plan and yes, I did switch my default browser configuration to "Hotspot Browser".
When I try "Scan for Networks" on the "Set Up Wi-Fi connection" it says "no networks found!"
When I try to manually add my own network, it says


Unable to Connect
Reason: Failed to connect to the network.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See if it has an i.t. Lock on it...

i.t. lock? If it clarifies, the Wi-Fi appears to just have a really weak signal. It works fine if I'm about 20 meters or less from the router.
