i just recently got a blackberry curve 8310 and purchased an 8 gig micro sdhc card for it. however after putting the card in, every time i try to format the card my phone freezes and I have to remove the battery just to get it to work again. i cant get the card to format on my computer because i do not have an sd card slot on it. the card isn't faulty as far as i know, but wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows what to do.

It sounds like the card could be bad, did you buy it brand new?

You shouldn't have to format the card if you just bought it. Does it at least recognize it when you put it in the phone? If so make sure the mass mode is on and then plug it into the pc so it will pick it up that way and then you should be able to copy over the files.

You do have to format the card.

And the card is recognized other wise it would say there isn't a memory card present and the OP wouldn't even be able to even attempt to format the card.
