What happens after the 10 seconds? You do know a boot-up can take 3-5 minutes.
Did anything happen recently? Botched downloads, installs etc.

low battery is the cause
it means the radio is switching off, you might want to check that
what did your friend send you?

Did you get this fixed?

I buy 'faulty' BBs on ebay and they do exactly that. I buy them because they are cheap and nothing is physically wrong. It does not sound like a low battery to me because low battery blinks a green LED. Nor does it sound like anything to do with the radio because that's a feature that you can access only when the BB is turned on. Yours is not turning on!

Instead, I suggest its time to reinstall the operating system and replace any corrupted files that are preventing your BB from booting.

First thing to do is try connecting the BB to the latest Desktop Manager (DM). It doesn't matter if the BB appears to be working or not because the DM may identify that something is wrong and automatically ask for your permission to reinstall the operating system. If you're lucky, that's your job done (could take 30 mins or so). If that doesn't work there are more detailed approaches.

You can download the DM from blackberry.com and I'm confident this BB will work again if you don't give up!

Alternatively you can mail it to me..

Word of warning is that 'water damage' can have the same symptoms, and I really hope its not that.. water damage might be repairable at a mobile repair shop.

The desktop manager didn't work it just said plug make sure you BB is plugged in. I'm gonna try take it in and see if a shop ca repair it but i want to still try fix it here.

DM doesnt work but every time i plug the USB to the BB it has a red light only for 10 secs then the light goes away again. the only time i see the screen come alive is when i was the battery out then plug it into the USB then it shows No Battery.

Anymore Idea's?

Thanks

Smile

firstly have the latest bb drivers installed
next instead of using dm to pick up the bb, try using bbsak because ultimately u may have to reload the os
