im kinda flipping out right now....my BB 8310 wont charge! all pins are there, and ive tried a couple different chargers and usb cables. the screen goes black and it doesn't charge, but the battery gets hot and so does the usb port on the fone(and the screen near there)

sounds like it might be a defective battery. if its getting hot, thats a decent indicator something is amiss. try a different battery and see if that helps.

If it's not the battery, then it could be the charging circuit in the BB that is bad.

Is the phone within the 12 month warranty?

well, i should be in the warranty, so ill go get it replaced...thanks...and i think its the port, cuz it gets hot too.

My 8310 is dead with the same symptoms.
It'll work with a charged battery, but won't charge at all.

Where can I have it repaired and is it worth it?

USB pins are clear.
Battery gets hot.
Out of warranty.

Are you with AT&T? Call your carrier, sometimes they are willing to give you a price break on a new/refurbed phone, with or without having to extend your contract.

You may be able to upgrade to a Bold or 8900 at a discounted price with a contract extension.
