I just went to my photos on my media card, clicked on one to pull it up and a message appeared "This beta version has expired", and wouldn't open the photo. This happened on all of the photos I tried. I've never had this happen before. Any ideas?

I've got os 4.5.0.97. It's just the standard BB picture viewer for media.

I will defer on this one. I believe that .97 is a beta version, but I have never seen one expire.

You may want to try battery reset to see that might help

Tried the battery pull. No go. Which other os would you recommend?

Also if you can lets us know where you got the version, just in case some posted a modifed copy that will brick a device.

    Thanks

Never saw that before in all the Betas I have used. Only
suggestion I have is to reinstall the OS from another source
    if you can find one.

Guess I'll try that. I'm sure Sprint's os 4.5 will be under my Christmas tree But in the meantime I'll look around.

Do you have Empower Pro on your device? If so try upgrading to the latest version.

I had some issues with .97 and downgraded, the beta expiration message was one of them. I continued to have issues with photo attachments not opening in email and it was related to Empower Pro and since I never checked to see if the beta issue was still there I though maybe the issues were related.

I'd suggest using JLCmdr and doing a wipe and fresh install and see if that takes care of the problem.

im also having this issue. I have an unlocked at&t 8310 on Tmo and am currently running 4.5.0.99 english from vodaphone lithuania. i downloaded the os from the carrier and have had it about 2 weeks. i have tried a battery pull and have done a hard reset wiping all 3rd party apps to make sure the error wasnt coming from one of those. i do blackberry support for verizon and have asked colleagues and our lead techs and no one has any idea. so confused. anyone have any other ideas? at this point im thinking of getting a downgraded os and doing a low level reinstall but im hesitant. i dont want to strip my baby bare if not needed

If you have BeamReader PDF viewer on your device, uninstall it becuase the trial has expired. After you have uninstalled BeamReader you will now be able to view your photos once again. The previous version interacted with the picture files. I didn't like this feature because there was no way to disable it and use the default bb picture viewer. I contaced the makers of BeamReader, and it seems they have coorected this problem with the new beta version.

The OP has not updated this thread but I believe the issue was
resolved by installing a different version of the OS.

No problem. The new version of BeamReader Beta does not included the picture viewer, so if you decide to re-download BeamReader you should not have this problem.
