Anyone have any suggestions on the best OS to run for the 8330? I had problems upgrading to verizons current os bc of the chirping and the .138 version has a ton of memory dump. Any tips would be appreciated!

Ask in the Beta OS and Hybrids forum whether the Nathanix 5.0 hybrid OS has the chirping issue on Verizon.

Other than that, you could load a hybrid OS with the latest 4.5 OS (4.5.0.186) with the last known 4.5 .sfi radio file that doesn't chirp from 4.5.0.131

Overall performance is better with the Nathanix hybrid ver 8. No chirping. Threaded SMS.

Did you have chirping problems before, on 4.5? If you didn't have that problem, then you shouldn't make the statement that there is no chirping using the hybrid 5.0 OS.

    MooreMU33,
I'm just relaying info I have read on the Nathanix forum. Users that had chirping reported that it disappeared. I didn't make it up. I stand by my statement that the hybrid OS 5.0 is better than the stock 4.5. I've loaded the Boost base OS 5.0 and four hybrid versions from Nathanix on my Verizon 8330. Like they say, 'Once you go hybrid, you'll never go back'

2 Questions re changing to 5.0 Hybid OS - v.8:

    1) Does changing over to this Hybrid affect all the programs on my phone. I'm assuming not, but I sure don't want to go through the hassle of getting them all functioning. Every time my phone gets exchanged (warranty issues) I go through the tedius process of getting everything back & functioning.

    2) Do you happen to know if the Verizon GPS is an issue on this new version of 5.0? I know on prior vesions GPS was an issue.

    Thanks for your help .

Better to ask your questions on the Nathanix forums on their website. I've never used their hybrid. Switched to Android, my backup 8330 is still running a 4.5 hybrid.

Thanks for your reply. I think I'll just leave well enough alone. I'm still using the 4.5.0.183 w/.131 radio files that you helped me with. It's working fine! As for threaded sms texts, I use Crunch, and it does the job.

Although I can upgrade at any time I want now, I like the 8330. I know you've had great results with your droid. Who knows, maybe I'll try it out in the fall. Thanks again!
