Is there a way to put your bb messenger contacts in order? For example, alphabetizing them within a group.

You can create groups and ur bb messenger should put them in abc order
Step 1: In bb messenger press the menu button
Step 2: select add group
Step 3: create group name
Step 4 highlight the name you want to move
Step 5: press the menu button
Step 6: select move
Step 7: select the group you would like to move it to
