bb .aac decoder?

can anyone reveal to me a player, converter, codec, or the encoding of/for the (native) ringtones i've extracted from my bb curve 8330m, which, strangely enough, are .aac files? none of the .aac capable audio software i've tried can read them (eg vlc, mplayer, foobar2000, dbPoweramp), like probably they're not really .aac format. so what are they, and how can i play or convert them?

thanks, but, "failed". not surprised of course, no other audio software likes these peculiar .aac files either. does FF put an error message somewhere? i couldn't find any.

Must be protected files. I've never had an error to look for.

indeed perhaps blackberry anticipated tinkerers/deserters such as me trying to snatch their beloved bb ringtones and put them on their new nonbb phone..
