BB 8310 Deletion Problems

Alrighty, I'm a nubcake when it comes to cell phone lingo but here goes nothing-
I recently recieved the 8310 from one of my relatives who no longer wanted it and I was hooked. To be perfectly honest, I still don't know how to fully navigate it but I'm getting around okay. The problem I'm having is that he had some email apps that he kept on his home page and he thought he had deleted them but they just magically appeared on my screen the other day and now his friends are emailing my phone. He was just up for the holiday and can't really explain what to do over the phone so it's left up to me. I can't just hide them because they still message me and I've looked everywhere(to my knowledge) to delete them, so I'm lost How do I permanently delete them from my home page and phone? Sounds like he never deleted his PIN from the BIS thru the carrier, you probably need to call the carrier, possible have him call the carrier to get this taken care of
