It sounds like you don't have BlackBerry Attachment Service installed on the Curve. Run Desktop Manager / App Loader. If you have the 8330 OS installed on your PC, you'll see BlackBerry Attachment Service. Check the box and let the App Loader Load it.
If you don't have the 8330 OS installed on your PC, you'll need to do so, then go back to the steps in the first paragraph.
