Question Also Device Not Detected Unique Situation

Here is the dilema. My first 8330 was working and syncing fine. One day it came up as device not detected. I already had the desktop manager on my laptop. I couldn't get it to work and bought another 8330. It is recognized by my USB port. The first one works fine and it charges fine from the laptop minus being able to be recognized or sync. I tried the non-syncing one on my desk top and another laptop and it won't be recognized. I've read nearly all the other post and tried many of those suggestions. What could be causing it to not be recognized?

Are you using the same USB cable on the device that syncs and the device that does not sync?

Do you notice any pins that appear to be bent or damaged on the USB port of the device that does not sync? Does anything look physically different than on the device that does sync?

It sounds like an issue either with the USB cable or a damaged USB port.

I'm using the same USB cable. I don't see anything bent. I also tried different USB cables. They work with one phone but not the other.

Problem solved! I can sync again! I didn't see any bent pins in the USB port. Not with my eyes alone that is. I looked again with a magnifying glass. One was worn just enough to not make contact with the USB cable. I used a sewing needle and gently pressed it out just enough from the opposite side to be even with the other pins.
