depending on the service you're using to track flights, wouldn't you just have the software send you an email?

most airlines offer the service free on their web sites. well, at least, American Airlines does.

For a fee - WorldMate Live. I'm sure there are other services but that's the one I know. Or like butcherbird says, you can use the airlines' websites. Most if not all have mobile-friendly sites.
