You can select any icon on your screen, press Menu / Move, and move the icon into the folder. Some people do this instead of hiding icons they don't use.

So can you hide info inside of an application i.e. pics, ringtones, videos etc. or just the whole application?

When you move an icon to a folder, you move the whole application.

Home screen folders or data folders? JeffH has answered the home screen folder questions. With regard to data folders, without a 3rd-party app or OS 4.5, data folder manipulation isn't the greatest. However, one way is to open Media, then Explore, and you will be able to do the functions associated with standard file folder actions (move, copy, delete, new folder, rename, etc).

I'm curious, I installed an application for a trial and never purchased it. How do I get rid of the folder it left and any applications it dropped out there?
