here's the problem:

my blackberry curve 8320 is constantly processing the 'enter' function (it acts like i am repeatedly pressing the trackball in).

i know it isnt the trackball itself because i replaced it and the problem still occurs.

is there a way that i can disable the function of the trackball being pressed to see if that works (eliminate the problem if it is the contacts)? and if anybody had any ideas or anything, that would be greatly helpful!

Try using a keyboard cleaner and blow underneath the trackball.
Then try to take see if it still occurs.
If you want yu can also see if it isn your trackball and check if it is your enterkey by going to firewall options and putting the highlight over one of the checkmark options and waiting for it to happen again. You trackball click will select the checkbox. Enter will make it move down one space.
